There’s nothing I love more than shopping for clothes online. It’s the best feeling ever; adding the on sale clothes that you don’t even need into your basket, qualifying for free next day delivery and then finally receiving the package! It’s a process that I never get tired of, and I’m pretty sure that’s just me being a girl. Us girls will literally spend hours online shopping, wishing we could afford the £300 worth of clothes in our basket.
But, something that I have never actually done, or even thought of doing, is have someone else do an online shop for me. So when I saw this new trend, and other Fashion Bloggers and YouTubers doing it, I thought it would be such a fun and new way of online shopping – getting someone who knows me almost better than I know myself to do it for me! So who else would I choose to do this very risky challenge other than my boyfriend? I gave him the task of picking me out some clothes without me having any idea of what he would actually put in my basket, wish me luck.
In all fairness, my boyfriend, Stan, actually has a pretty good sense of fashion, especially when it comes to helping me pick out an outfit. I really do like his sense of style, and he’s a huge help whenever I drag him clothes shopping with me! A great example of this is when we were at TKMaxx, and he picked out a mesh black floral top that I never would have even looked twice at, but once I tried it on, I actually loved it and ended up living in it for the next like, two months.
Together, we decided to go for the clothing brand ASOS, because of the huge variety of clothing that they offer. There is such a huge amount of choice that it would not only mean there would be more of a chance of me liking the clothes picked, but also would make it more challenging for Stan because if he were to order from somewhere else like PLT for example, there would be pretty much a 100% chance that I’d like the clothes, so I wanted to give him a bit more of a challenge.
So, without further hesitation, here are the three items that he picked out for me!
*I gave him a budget of £25, so 3 things for £25 + free delivery isn’t bad at all!*
Striped Frill White + Pink Crop Top
This first pick was a white and pink candy-cane styled frill crop top, perfect for the summer. It’s so flattering but also so comfortable, and not tight fitting at all! I was so surprised and impressed considering this was the first thing I pulled out of the bag. It fits me really well, and as I just mentioned it’s so comfortable and the material is really light which is great for the summer and I can’t wait to wear it in the sun when this snow finally clears in England! I don’t really have many pink/feminine tops which is why I think I actually love this one so much, because it’s unique and I also really love the frills on the sleeves – I just think overall that this top is so cute for the summer and I especially love the stripes as it makes the top more bold and unique! Because it’s so simple yet so pretty, it means I can wear it with pretty much anything so that’s a big bonus.
I would rate this purchase: 10/10 ♡
So the next item was an oversized, comfort T-Shirt. This is also pink, which again I like as I’m not used to wearing such a ‘girly’ colour. I do really like the style Stan went for, and this lounge-wear top in my opinion is more of a chilling out, wear in the house kind of top. It’s very floaty and baggy which makes it extremely comfortable and light to wear. It’s a no-bra kind of top in my opinion. I also really liked the quote that’s on the top which is ‘Love Me Gender’; I thought it was quite quirky and bold which drew in my attention. I think it’s definitely a feminist-influenced t-shirt which I like. I’d wear this with either leggings or sports shorts for chilling in, or even nipping out in, and I’d be proud to wear it!
I would rate this purchase: 8/10 ♡
Candy Cane Skater Back-Tie Apron Dress
This next purchase was the one that I was the most pleasantly surprised at. This was the brightest shade of pink, and very bold. Again, you can definitely tell that he went for the ‘feminine’ theme which I actually really liked. So, this was an apron-styled candy cane skater dress which ties around the neck nicely. I really like the style of this dress as it’s something that I haven’t actually seen before, especially the flowy style. I feel like it’s such a summery dress and I do really like how unique it is. I wore this dress on holiday to Zante, Greece, and it was beautiful, and so comfortable in the sun! I love the bright, bold colours and the striped/candy cane pattern on the dress, too! The one problem I had was trying to find shoes that went well with this dress, because I only own black shoes. I quickly rectified this problem though by ordering myself some white sandals that went perfectly!
I would rate this purchase: 9.5/10 ♡
Overall I’m actually really pleasantly surprised by the clothes that Stan picked out for me, and I’m quite happy with what my money has been spent on. My personal fave is of course the stripey top, as it’s something I have actually liked before when seeing similar in stores. I also love the dress and I can’t wait to wear it away on holiday again when we go abroad this year! I think the whole ‘feminine’ theme was a really good idea, and I’m not gonna lie I really was worried as to what he was gonna pick out for me, haha! Thank you so much for reading this post and I think you should try this out with your partner and let me know how it goes…
