🌸 Pink Hair, Don’t Care πŸ’•

A lot of gals go through the phase of wanting their hair a bright colour – bright blue, neon yellow, electric pink, you name it. Being one of those gals, I never really thought I would have the guts to actually do it, but after a last-minute decision sat in the hairdressers, I decided to take the plunge and go for it! πŸ˜‚

I stayed pink for a good month, and it actually lasted so well, not dimming or going dull whatsoever. So, if you’re thinking about taking the plunge & going bright pink, I really think you should, and here’s how! βœ¨πŸ’–

Preperation: Pre-Lighten Your Hair 🌟

You need to make sure first of all that you have light enough hair to be able to turn it pink straight away, it’s not just a quick and simple process. If you, unlike me are fortunate enough to have light hair, then this shouldn’t be a problem for you. (Lucky)! I however, had to pre-lighten my hair first and go blonde, so that my hair would take to the bright pink, and wouldn’t fade or go ginger! πŸ™Œ

Book An Appoinment: DO NOT Box Dye πŸ™…β€β™€οΈ

Admittedly, I have used my fair share of home box dyes, because it is just soooo tempting. But please, gals, if you are looking for a sign to not do this, this is it. Please don’t use box dyes; I have learnt my lesson and will be writing another blog post about my experience with box dye so that you don’t have to make the same mistake I did! Get yourself in your local hairdressers, and get a professional to brighten up your hair without ruining it. Having someone you can trust makes it not only look better but it makes you feel better and more comfortable! πŸ’•

After-Care: Avoid Unnecessary Heat Products! πŸ’†β€β™€οΈ

I know that us girls absolutely love a pair of straighteners, but if you’re wanting to put such a harsh colour on your hair you’ve got to pay the price! I’m not saying avoid straighteners and curling irons completely, that’s not necessary, but definitely cut them out of your DAILY routine. You just need to avoid using them everyday because otherwise your hair may become more quickly damaged and more commonly, frizzy, and frizzy hair is such a pain! 😣

Up-Keep: Use Colour Preserving Products πŸ’•

Of course nothing lasts forever, not even bright neon hair, but you can do as much as you possibly can to ensure that you get the best out of your pink hair. I absolutely swear by the ‘Aveda Colour Preserve’ Shampoo & Conditioner, as every single time I used them my hair just became brighter. Really and truly they are the best products I have ever used, and they kept my hair in such a healthy and hydrated condition. 😊

So there we have it – enjoy your pink hair ladies and please do send me some pics if you decide to take the plunge like I did! ✨🌟 insta: @keelyeliseray 🌟✨ I’ll feature them all on my Insta!!! Xox
