πŸ¦™ I Walked An Alpaca @ Charnwood Forest πŸ˜

It’s not every day you can say that you’ve walked an alpaca around mountains, fields and off road tracks, so when I got given the opportunity to go and do this very thing I honestly couldn’t wait! πŸ™ˆ

So I was given this amazing 90 minute alpaca trekking experience as a Christmas present with my little sister, and we decided with it being Bank holiday Monday, we would go and walk an alpaca! πŸ¦™

It sounds like quite a random thing to go and do, which I agree with, and I didn’t even realise it was a thing! 🀣 But when I found out that it was, I couldn’t wait to go and do it, and meet all the cute alpacas, because being a huge animal lover, this sounded like my kind of thing. ✌️The Experience From Start To Finish πŸ¦™

The recommended time to arrive is 30 minutes prior to your alpaca trek, as this gives you time to have a look around, sign in, and head to the Chilli Bean Cafe for a drink. You get given free Β£1 off vouchers for a tea or coffee at the Cafe, too, which is an added bonus! β˜•οΈ

You can also purchase a lil bag of alpaca food to take on your trek with you at 50p a bag. So me being me, I bought 7. πŸ˜ƒ

So, you arrive at the meeting place 5 minutes before your walk, to then be meted by your tour guide – Louise in our case! She then took us to a barn where she gave us a 15 minute run-down of what the walk would entail, and a little bit of history about alpaca’s. It was interesting and we got to feel alpaca wool, and a demo alpaca came in so we could feel its foot! πŸ˜‚πŸ¦™

After that, we had to queue up single file as we got given our very own alpaca from the pen. And as if things couldn’t get any better, when it came to my alpaca I got given the BABY alpaca of the group 😩😩😩

My alpaca was called Call Of The Wild, and is only 8 months old. They start training them on these walks at 6 months old, so my lil baby alpaca didn’t quite have this whole trekking thing figured out yet. But that’s what made him so cute, and I really wanted to take him back home with me. 😍

You then go on a 90 minute walk around the farm, which includes a 15 minute break at the top of the hill on a field, where you get to pet your alpaca, get cute pictures and feed them. πŸ₯°βœ¨If you’re considering walking an alpaca, then go πŸ‘ and πŸ‘ do πŸ‘ it πŸ‘. I would do it again in a heart beat πŸ˜‚ The place is called @pukkapacas and they are at Charnwood Forest Alpacas πŸ¦™ in Ashby De La Zouch! πŸ’—

I hope you enjoyed this different little blog post about my experience walking a baby alpaca! πŸ¦™πŸ€£ You should definitely go and do it ✨ let me know if you want more experience blog posts like this. Thank you! X
